Biography: Cristina Rubio was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Connecticut. She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Art History from the University of Massachusetts and her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami.
Her legal career spans various areas of law, including both private practice and in-house counsel roles for several corporations. In 2011, she co-founded Ochoa & Rubio, P.A. with her law school best friend, Tania Ochoa. Together, they have built a strong reputation and community presence in both South Florida and the Treasure Coast. Initially, the firm specialized in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies for individuals and businesses, along with services such as debt negotiation, loan modifications, and short sales. Over time, they expanded their practice to include transactional real estate, handling all types of residential and commercial real estate closings.
Ochoa & Rubio, P.A. prides itself on its commitment to clients and its personalized, hands-on approach to law. By maintaining a boutique practice, the attorneys have remained accessible to their clients and deeply involved in the community on a personal level.
Tania Ochoa was born in Puerto Rico and raised in North Palm Beach, Florida, is an accomplished bankruptcy attorney with deep roots in the South Florida legal community. After graduating from Cardinal Newman High School, she pursued her undergraduate studies at Boston College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Tania then returned to Florida to attend St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, where she discovered her passion for bankruptcy law.
She began her legal career as a staff attorney for the Chapter 13 Trustee, serving Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties for a decade. In 2011, Tania ventured into private practice, founding Ochoa & Rubio, P.A., with her best friend from law school, Cristina Rubio. Together, they built a reputable firm specializing in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies for individuals and businesses, helping clients overcome financial challenges and secure a fresh start.
Tania is known for her commitment to her clients, guiding them through the complexities of bankruptcy law to eliminate debt and rebuild their financial futures. Her firm operates two offices, one in West Palm Beach and another in Stuart, serving clients across the Southern District of Florida.
Outside of her legal career, Tania has been happily married to Daniel P. Jardin for 18 years. They have two sons, Colin and Austin, and live in Palm Beach County with their two dogs, Bailee and Roxee.
